SANDAKAN: A report has been lodged against an individual over a TikTok video allegedly insulting Head of State Tun Musa Aman.
Rajali Mohd, 47, in his report at the Sandakan police station, said the video featured rude, disrespectful remarks that clearly undermined the official position of Musa as Governor.
“These statements not only risk inciting public anger but also have the potential to disrupt public order and provoke contempt toward the state’s highest institution,” he said, Saturday.
Rajali viewed the remarks as a serious violation of social decorum and the Constitution, particularly for the people of Sabah.
He urged authorities to carry out a thorough investigation under the relevant legal provisions.
These include Section 504 of the Penal Code, concerning intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of peace, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, relating to the misuse of network facilities to spread offensive and insulting content, in addition to any other applicable laws.
He also called on all Malaysians, especially those in Sabah, to exercise greater responsibility on social media and refrain from disrespecting respected state institutions.
