KUALA LUMPUR: Another alleged pervert has been caught in public secretly filming under a woman’s skirt at an MRT station while she was with her child.

The perpetrator, upon being discovered, begged for mercy while the victim's husband detained him, seized his phone, and brought him to MRT staff.

The victim later uploaded the incident to TikTok on Monday, sparking a wave of online discussions that highlighted the troubling tendency to blame women’s clothing choices.

Despite the man’s actions, several online commenters bizarrely shifted focus to the victim’s choice of clothing rather than condemning the crime itself.

Some commenters suggested that the woman’s attire, a skirt, played a role in provoking the incident, reinforcing the misguided notion that modesty could prevent harassment.

However, many users quickly shot down this argument, pointing out that harassment and criminal behaviour occur regardless of what women wear, even when they are fully covered or wearing modest clothing.
