The opening ceremony was hosted by Simon Wang, President & CEO of TAITRA, and kicked off with a high energy 24-festive drum performance that symbolises the cultural integration and enthusiasm for the growing cooperation between Malaysia and Taiwan.

This year’s Taiwan Expo has received the support from 26 Malaysian industry associations and groups which indicates the great importance local industry players attach to the event.
Taiwan plays a pivotal role in the global supply chain for semiconductors, information and communication technologies, as well as smart manufacturing.
Taiwan’s technical expertise is recognized by the international community and would synergize perfectly with Malaysia’s role as an important manufacturing and export hub in Asia.
According to statistics, bilateral trade between Malaysia and Taiwan reached USD 39.1 billion in 2024 which cemented Taiwan’s position as Malaysia’s fourth largest trading partner. Bilateral trade grew by 36.8% in the first five months of 2025 compared to the same period last year.
YBhg Tan Sri Dato' Soh Thian Lai remarked that the exhibition has many forward-looking contents that the local industry should find interesting and the focus of Taiwan Expo is highly in-sync with the development direction of Malaysia’s manufacturing industry and serves as an important platform for promoting technological exchanges and industrial advancements.

In the afternoon of the 25th of June, Taiwan Excellence mascot FuBear will be challenging the Malaysian Book of Records with the greatest number of high-fives.
The challenge is a joint effort with First City University College, training centre for children with autism REACH Segamat, and Malaysian Creative Sewing Arts Association (PSJKM). The challenge aims to bring a heartwarming end to this year’s Taiwan Expo.
Taiwan Expo 2025 in Malaysia is held from the 23rd of June (Monday) to 25th of June (Wednesday) from 10am to 6pm daily at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) Hall 4 and 5.
