PETALING JAYA: The Kuala Terengganu sessions court has sentenced a labourer to six years in prison and one stroke of the cane for sodomising a man with learning disabilities.
Judge Zul Zakiquddin Zulkifli handed down the sentence after Jaya Ghani, 40, pleaded guilty, Harian Metro reported.
According to the charge sheet, Jaya engaged in intercourse against the order of nature with the 46-year-old victim without his consent.
The offence was committed in a bathroom at a house in Marang at around 12pm on June 7.
He was charged under Section 377C of the Penal Code for the offence.
The court ordered the prison sentence to begin from the date of his arrest, which was June 15.
Deputy public prosecutor Aisyah Mohamad prosecuted, while the accused was unrepresented.
