PENAMPANG: Police arrested three local men and seized 78.5 litres of suspected ketum liquid worth RM1,320 during an integrated crime prevention operation in Putatan on Tuesday.

The Penampang District Police Headquarters conducted the operation which resulted in three separate arrests of men aged between 33 and 41.

Police confiscated a total of 53 plastic bottles containing the suspected ketum liquid.

All three suspects were brought in to facilitate further investigation. 

Penampang District Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton said police take a firm stance and would not compromise in efforts to combat illegal activities.

“We advise members of the public who have information regarding drug crimes or ketum liquid to immediately report to the authorities,” he said in a statement, Wednesday.
