Advice to govt staff on following orders

RANAU: Civil servants should be good at assessing and not simply implement instructions if they are not in line with the regulations, said Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Abidin Madingkir.

“My principle is that all instructions from superiors or the Minister will be implemented if the instructions are in line with regulations. But on the contrary, if they contradict regulations, of course, we will not implement them.

“I believe this is one of the cores of Malaysia Madani.

“Therefore, I call on all civil servants in Ranau district to be good at adapting to the situation and take an approach to accommodate the people in accordance with our position as a famous eco-tourism centre in the State of Sabah,” he said.
