LAHAD DATU: Police detained a couple to assist in investigations into the murder of a 23-year-old foreigner, here, on Saturday.

It was learnt that the incident occurred in an unnumbered house at a plantation in Ulu Segangan, Silabukan.

District Acting Police Chief, Supt. Jimmy Panyau said, the victim was found dead with injuries on his back, believed caused by a sharp weapon.

“Acting on information, we have detained a man and woman, both foreigners aged 29 respectively on the same day to assist in investigation.

“The body had been sent to Lahad Datu Hospital for post-mortem to identify the cause of death,” he said.

Jimmy added that investigations are ongoing under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
