PENAMPANG: Police arrested two individuals in separate drug operations on Friday and Saturday, seizing illegal substances worth thousands of ringgit.
Police conducted two coordinated raids that resulted in the seizure of suspected ecstasy and methamphetamine.
Penampang Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton in a statement, here, Sunday said on June 27 at about 9.45pm, officers detained a 39-year-old local man in front of a condominium lobby here.
A search revealed six plastic packets containing suspected ecstasy powder weighing approximately 228 grams, with an estimated street value of RM4, 800.
A vehicle was also seized during the operation.
The following day, at around 2pm, police arrested a 35-year-old local woman at a residential area in Putatan.
The search uncovered three transparent plastic packets containing crystal fragments suspected to be methamphetamine (syabu) weighing 5.22 grams.
A urine test confirmed the suspect tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.
Sammy said police will continue commitment in combating drug-related crimes.
He urged the public to serve as the eyes and ears of law enforcement in helping to curb criminal activities and drug cases in the community.
