KOTA KINABALU: STAR Kapayan Division Chief Bernard Logijin has dismissed allegations linking party president Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan to a mining scandal as a recycled smear tactic ahead of elections.
He said Sabahans are wise enough to see through politically motivated attacks and will remain loyal to parties that defend state rights.
“No fabricated scandal will change the minds of Sabah voters. They will always vote for Sabah,” Bernard said, adding that the accusations are part of an old tactic that no longer works.
Dr Jeffrey has denied receiving RM1.78 million linked to the mining deal, calling it a baseless political ploy.
Bernard stressed that voters are choosing not just leaders, but Sabah’s future.
“Anyone who goes against this betrays Sabah and its people," he said.
