PENAMPANG: A man and woman were detained in a drug raid at Kampung Nosoob, Jalan Towering, with police seizing methamphetamine worth about RM2,500, here, Tuesday.
Police conducted the operation at about 4.30pm as part of their Ops Gempur.
During the raid, police discovered a transparent plastic packet containing 50.5 grammes of crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine (syabu).
The local duo, a 55-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman, both tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.
Police also confiscated two vehicles and RM1,800 in cash during the operation.
Both suspects are currently under remand for investigations.
Penampang District Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton urged members of the public with information about criminal activities or drug-related matters to contact the nearest police station.
