RM1m allocation each for 12 Madani Adopted Villages under KDN

KOTA BELUD: The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) has at least 12 Madani Adopted Villages which have been allocated RM1 million each to implement various projects.

Its Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the allocation was given directly to local leaders and relevant agencies to implement physical and non-physical projects that have an impact on their respective villages.

".....the impact of the RM1 million allocation is immediate, fast, with no bureaucracy, for example, the installation of 40 units of solar lights (for Madani Adopted Villages)," he said.

He told reporters after officiating the KDN Madani Adopted Village Programme launching ceremony at Sekolah Kebangsaan (Sk) Kampung Pangkalan Abai here today.

Saifuddin Nasution said that a Malaysian Volunteer Corps Department (RELA) and Neighbourhood Watch (KRT) control post was also established in Sk Pangkalan Abai Madani Adopted Village which was also assisted by villagers in security control.

He said other facilities at Sk Pangkalan Abai Madani Adopted Village which has about 800 residents, included the construction of a drainage system to overcome the problem of flooding along 150 metres.

Apart from the installation of a 350-metre-long pipe and the purchase of a hearse, the Ministry of Home Affairs also allocated RM50,000 to the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) of Sk Pangkalan Abai.

"I think the benefits of this programme are in line with the Ministry of Home Affairs' duties," he said, adding that the Madani Adopted Village programme has a direct impact on the people.
