Ensure supplementary funds reach rural Sabah effectively - Ghani
KOTA KINABALU: Nabawan Assemblyman Datuk Abdul Ghani Mohamed Yassin urged the State Government to ensure allocations under the Supplementary Supply Bill 2025 directly address rural infrastructure needs.

Debating the bill, he stressed the importance of upgrading former logging roads now serving as vital access routes, and called for more support for clean water solutions and rural electrification in interior areas like Nabawan.

He questioned whether the additional funds would cover unresolved projects such as village roads, flood drainage, and rural admin buildings, and pushed for support for micro-entrepreneurs through capital, training, and market access.

To ensure transparency, he proposed regular public updates on fund utilisation and a monitoring committee under the State Finance Ministry.
