Kota Kinabalu: Sarawak Kadayan team emerged champions in the 8th Borneo Kadayan Golf Championship held at Sutera Harbour Golf and Country Club on Sunday.

The team led by Arni Yahya captured the challenge trophy and in second place was Sabah led by Datuk Seri Safar Untong followed by defending champions Labuan led by Rozman Isli in third and Brunei led by Dato Zaimi Talip in fourth.

A total of 144 golfers took part in the annual event organised by Sabah Kadayan Association (PAADIAN).

Its president Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob who gave away the prizes said the tournament was served as a platform to further strengthen ties between the Kadayan community in the region.

He added that Sarawak will be hosting the tournament next year and they are targeting the participation of Kadayan team from Kalimantan, Indonesia.
