Lahad Datu narcotics sweep nets four suspects

LAHAD DATU: Four men were detained in separate operations around the town area for alleged drug possession and abuse, said district acting police chief Supt Jimmy Panyau.

The first suspect, aged 45, was arrested near Jalan Pantai around 10.40am with 0.14 grams of suspected syabu and later tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.

At about 3.45pm, two men aged 32 and 34 were found acting suspiciously in Kampung Puyut, with one in possession of 0.28 grams of suspected syabu and two aluminium foils, while one tested positive for drug use.

Later, at 4.30pm, a 40-year-old man was arrested near Jalan Kastam Baru with a cigarette box containing 27 packets of substances believed to be syabu weighing 5.51 grams.
