RANAU: Two people were taken to hospital following a road accident involving an express bus and a Proton Saga along Jalan Ranau-Kundasang on Friday night.

The Fire and Rescue Department responded to the 10.16pm call and arrived at the scene 21 minutes later.

Of the 23 people involved, 20 passengers were uninjured, while the 65-year-old bus driver sustained injuries and a female passenger was found unconscious.

Both received immediate medical attention before being transported by ambulance to Ranau Hospital for further treatment.

The male Proton Saga driver escaped without injury, and the operation ended safely after the area was assessed by all agencies involved.
