Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Dusunic Languages Preservation Association Keningau will host the inaugural Dusunic Sabah Carnival at Apin-Apin, Keningau next month.

Its President, Datuk Lawrence Gimbang, said the carnival is part of the association’s effort to promote the continued use of the Dusunic language in everyday life.

He said while language use among the younger generation has declined in some areas, the carnival will serve as a practical platform to bring it back into public focus.

Activities lined up include speech competitions, poetry readings, traditional attire showcases and language workshops, all conducted in the Dusunic language.
