Man dies at Beaufort food stall

BEAUFORT: An elderly Bisaya, Jislin Muska @ Muskah, collapsed and died in front of a food stall in Bingkul on Wednesday.

Beaufort District Police Chief Supt Wong Leong Meng confirmed the 9.40am incident on Thursday.

Earlier that morning, the deceased left home with his wife and son to go to the hospital for his wife’s dialysis treatment. 

Before heading to the hospital, they stopped for breakfast at a food stall in Bingkul, opposite the Beaufort Water Department.

“After finishing breakfast, the deceased went to the toilet behind the shop. Upon returning and heading back to his seat, he suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness,” said Supt Wong.

The deceased’s son immediately contacted the hospital for emergency assistance. Upon arrival, medical personnel confirmed that the man had died at the scene.
