Over 300 entrepreneurs attend Madani seminar
Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick officiated the event.
PENAMPANG: Over 300 Sabah entrepreneurs attended the first Madani Entrepreneurs Seminar: e-Invoice on Tuesday, aimed at boosting awareness of the government’s mandatory e-Invoice system.

The one-day seminar, organised by the National Entrepreneurship Institute (Insken), took place at the Penampang Cultural Hall here.

The programme focused on helping micro and small businesses understand e-Invoicing processes required by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).

Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick officiated the event.

Insken Board of Trustees Chairman Mustaffa Kamil Ayub said the success of e-Invoicing depends on both awareness and proper understanding among entrepreneurs.

 “Without awareness, change is difficult and without knowledge, implementation will be shaky,” he said.

He urged entrepreneurs to embrace change, keep learning and stay responsive to current market needs.

Insken Chief Executive Officer Viviantie Sarjuni said a total of 900 entrepreneurs are expected to benefit through three seminar series, with the coming sessions in Kuching and the Klang Valley.

“Today’s turnout shows that small business owners are eager to adapt and comply with digital systems like e-Invoicing,” she said.

The seminar was supported by the Ministry of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Sabah (Mide), the Department of Women’s Affairs Sabah Jhewa, the Armed Forces Ex-Servicemen Affairs Corporation (Perhebat), the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) Sabah and other state-level agencies and non-governmental organisations.
