SANDAKAN: A 25-year-old local was found dead at his home at Kampung Sim-Sim, here, on Tuesday.

Sandakan District Police Chief ACP George Abd Rakman said they received a report regarding the incident at 9.33pm, prompting a team to the scene.

“Upon arrival, they found a man hanging in the storage room of his house. He was confirmed dead at the scene,” he said in a statement.

The victim was discovered by a family member, who immediately alerted the authorities.

Preliminary investigation revealed the man was believed to have had underlying health issues.

The body was sent to the Duchess of Kent Hospital’s Forensic Unit for a post-mortem.
