Lorry carrying 10,000 litres of petrol crashes along Lahad Datu-Tawau road

LAHAD DATU: A lorry carrying 10,000 litres of petrol was involved in a road accident along Jalan Sabahan, Lahad Datu-Tawau, on Wednesday morning.

The driver, who was found conscious with injuries by the roadside, received initial treatment from firefighters before being handed over to Health Ministry responders.

The Fire and Rescue Department's team  arrived at the scene around 9.30am and confirmed there was a fuel leak from the overturned vehicle.

Hazmat specialists advised responders to apply foam to the lorry to prevent any ignition, while a 100-foot safety zone was established around the site.
