MANGGATAL: A fire broke out at a wooden pallet storage area here late Friday afternoon.

The Fire and Rescue Department received the alert at 5:06pm and arrived on scene by 5:15pm with support from three stations, including a water tanker from Tuaran.

The 20-by-40-foot non-permanent structure was destroyed, but no casualties were reported.

Firefighters brought the situation under control within 15 minutes and concluded the operation after confirming the site was safe.
