KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor expressed confidence that Sabahans would re-elect the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government in the upcoming 17th State Election, citing its track record and groundwork laid over the past five years.
Speaking at the Gagasan Rakyat annual general assembly at SICC here on Sunday, he likened GRS’s governance to constructing a solid home rooted in grassroots aspirations and local resolve.
Hajiji said the administration never made grand promises but aimed to deliver tangible results that prioritise people’s welfare.
He noted that the 17th State Election would be a critical test for GRS to seek a strong mandate to continue its development plans and maintain political stability.
He warned that failure to secure victory could disrupt current progress and sideline local political leadership, affecting the people and the state’s future.
Hajiji stressed the importance of local representation in advancing Sabah’s rights, adding that a strong GRS mandate would enhance its voice and bargaining position.
He urged Gagasan Rakyat’s full election machinery, including youth and grassroots wings, to actively engage with voters and campaign with conviction to win back the people’s mandate.
