Kota Kinabalu: Team Kaki Ayam (KA) emerged as champions of the Football Tournament Co-Sponsored Season I after a thrilling penalty shootout victory over PUFC in the final held recently at the Sabah RELA Training Centre field.
As champions, KA walked away with RM1,000 in cash, a trophy, and medals. PUFC, the runners-up, received RM500, a trophy, and medals. Joint third-place teams TK United FT and PSV each took home RM200, a trophy, and medals.
All players who participated in the tournament were also awarded certificates of participation.
Organised by the Persatuan Bola Sepak Tiger (PBST), the tournament featured veteran players aged 44 and above, with 10 teams taking part: TK United FT, RELA, Ebagoo FC, GVT FC, Kaki Ayam, PBST FC, PSV, PUFC, Dara Veteran FC, and BK FC.
PBST President Harris Amat said the tournament aimed to promote health through sports and foster camaraderie among veteran players.
He also congratulated the winning teams and expressed his appreciation to the organising committee for ensuring the smooth execution of the event.
The prize presentation and closing ceremony were officiated by Harris Amat alongside Madani Utama Holding Managing Director Aslin Samat.
