Filipino man nabbed with fake passport at KK airport
PETALING JAYA: A 21-year-old Filipino man was arrested at Kota Kinabalu International Airport after he was caught trying to leave Sabah with a fake passport.

The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency said checks of the suspect’s passport found that he had social visit pass endorsements for entering the country on July 28 and exiting on July 30.

It believed that both endorsements were false as they were not recorded in the immigration department’s system.

“The suspect was arrested on suspicion of trying to mislead the authorities on the actual duration of his stay in Malaysia,” it said in a statement.

The agency said it also found two boarding passes on the suspect: one for a flight to Kuala Lumpur on July 30 and another to Manila, Philippines, the following day.

“The purpose of these boarding passes is being investigated,” it added.
