Man held for threatening dad with machete 
LAHAD DATU: Police arrested a 41-year-old man suspected of threatening his father with a machete at Kampung Jawa, Jalan Segama, on Wednesday.

District Police Chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said the suspect was upset after learning that his guitar was lent to his cousin.

“The suspect is said to have acted aggressively and threatened his 75-year-old father in the 6.15pm incident.

“The Criminal Investigation Division carried out Op Cantas at 11pm and detained the suspect. The team also seized a machete believe used by the suspect,” he said.

According to Dzulbaharin, the suspect tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.

The suspect who has five previous criminal records was taken to Lahad Datu Police Headquarters (IPD) and will be remanded for further investigation.

The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation, which carries a sentence of up to seven years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both, on conviction.
