Azam Jaya bags RM120.9 mln contract for Tawau Airport upgrading works
KUALA LUMPUR: Azam Jaya Bhd, which specialises in major road infrastructure projects in Sabah, has secured a RM120.9 million contract through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Pembinaan Azam Jaya Sdn Bhd, for upgrading works at Tawau Airport in Sabah from the Ministry of Transport.

In a statement, Azam Jaya said under the letter of acceptance, the company will undertake the project on a design and build basis, including preliminaries, design, construction of terminal buildings, and associated works.

The three-year contract will commence from Aug 22, 2025, with completion expected by Aug 17, 2028.

The company said with passenger traffic increasing significantly in recent years, the ongoing upgrades are timely.

“This contract is a valuable addition to our project portfolio and reinforces the trust placed in our ability to deliver large-scale developments. It also complements our ongoing involvement in the Pan Borneo Highway and further strengthens our footprint across Sabah,” she said.
