Illegal who ran amok in Tawau with knife held
TAWAU: Police detained a 37-year-old illegal immigrant who went on a rampage brandishing a knife, suspected under the influence of drugs, in Kampung Batu 4 Jalan Apas early Tuesday.

The incident, which disrupted the peaceful village atmosphere, was reported to police at about 12.55am, prompting an immediate operation to locate and arrest the suspect.

Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin said the suspect was detained outside his home. He was wielding a sharp knife measuring about 24.5 centimetres.

The suspect was taken to Tawau Police Station for further investigation, including preliminary urine screening to determine possible drug influence.
