Kota Kinabalu: The 16th Kota Kinabalu International Film Festival (KKIFF) 2025 closing screening night is tonight (Aug 9) at the City Cineplex, City Mall at 8pm.

The Filmmakers Competition awards night and the three Golden Kinabalu Awards for documentary, narrative and indigenous language will be held at the Hilton Hotel tomorrow Sunday Aug 10.

Judges include Al Jafree Md Yusop and Kok Siew Wai. A special Golden Kinabalu Award will be awarded to honour Hassan Muthalib as the leading jury since 2012 for KKIFF.

Ibis Styles Hotel hosted all the KKIFF 2025 on-site workshops. Among the Borneo related films screened were the ‘Bajau Laut’ from Indonesia, and the ‘Head Hunters of Borneo’ (1936) from Germany on August 5.
