KOTA KINABALU: The post-mortem examination on 13-year-old Zara Qairina Mahathir remained ongoing at 5.30pm after commencing at 11.30am.

Family lawyer Hamid Ismail and his associate Shahlan Jufri have been alternating in observing the procedure.

Zara’s mother and siblings have been waiting in the hospital hall throughout the day.

The process is understood to be taking longer due to the detailed examination required.

Preliminary findings are expected to be presented by Shahlan once the procedure concludes.
