LAHAD DATU: A foreign national was arrested for riding a stolen motorcycle during a road operation conducted by the Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Division.

District Police Chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said the suspect, who admitted to not possessing any valid identification documents, was detained during Op Samseng Jalanan.

A check through the Motorcycle Checking and Analysis Device (MCAD) system revealed that the Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle bearing registration number SD4319N was actually registered to a Honda motorcycle.

“Further inspection of the chassis number uncovered the motorcycle’s original registration as SWJ5623, which had been reported stolen in Kalabakan,” he said.

The suspect was arrested on the spot, and the motorcycle was seized. Both were taken to the Lahad Datu District Police Headquarters for further investigation.
