Warisan denies Kunak YB’s ‘Langkah Kinabalu’ claim
Azhar, who is also Darau Assemblyman, denied Norazlinah’s allegation that Warisan is no longer a local party due to its expansion into Peninsula Malaysia.
Kota Kinabalu: Warisan Treasurer-General Datuk Azhar Matussin rejected Kunak Assemblywoman Norazlinah Arif’s claim that the party was involved in the “Langkah Kinabalu” political episode in Jan 2023.

He said, at the time, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) was leading the State Government, with Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor still a member of Bersatu Sabah within the GRS coalition.

Barisan Nasional (BN) and Hajiji were in the same Cabinet, while Warisan was in the State Opposition.

“‘Langkah Kinabalu’ was an internal dispute between BN and Bersatu/GRS over power.

“Warisan was not in Hajiji’s Cabinet and did not have the numbers to bring down the Government. Blaming Warisan is simply an attempt to twist the facts,” he said in a statement, Friday.

Azhar, who is also Darau Assemblyman, denied Norazlinah’s allegation that Warisan is no longer a local party due to its expansion into Peninsula Malaysia.

He emphasised that the move was to ensure Sabah’s voice was heard in Parliament and national decision-making.

Azhar questioned her credibility, citing her record of party-hopping and suggesting her criticism of Warisan was aimed at winning favour with her new political leader rather than genuinely fighting for the people.
