TAWAU: Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) Sabah Chairperson Datin Soh Kee Suat has called on local authorities to take urgent action to combat the worsening dengue outbreak in the district.
Following a fact-finding visit to Tawau Hospital with Deputy Chairperson Datuk Ronnie Loh, Soh emphasised the need for joint efforts between government agencies and the community to carry out “gotong-royong” activities to eliminate Aedes mosquito breeding grounds.
During the visit, they met with dengue patients Nip Wing Kan and Nip Song Jin from Batu 2, Jalan Apas.
“We understand that many residents in the area have been infected, and some fatalities have already been reported,” Soh said in a statement.
