Jasnih is puzzled by Sakmud’s remark
Jasnih (left) said this in response to Mustapha’s (right) statement describing the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) as a liability to Pakatan Harapan (PH).
Kota Kinabalu: Pantai Dalit Assemblyman Datuk Jasnih Daya said Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Mustapha Sakmud should exercise greater caution when making public statements.

He said this in response to Mustapha’s statement describing the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) as a liability to Pakatan Harapan (PH).

“His (Mustapha) statement is baseless and potentially damaging to harmony among government coalition partners,” said the Pantai Dalit Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Division Chief.

“I am unsure of the basis, motive or objective behind his reference to GRS as a liability to PH. I have many friends in PKR and PH, but such conclusions are rare,” Jasnih said in a Facebook post, Sunday.

While appreciating the media’s role in reporting leaders’ views, Jasnih advised Mustapha to exercise greater caution when making public statements.

“Do not get too excited when giving statements, especially those that only expose weaknesses and damage oneself. Most importantly, do not become a saboteur,” Jasnih said.

Jasnih cautioned that excessive self-confidence can lead to arrogance, which ultimately harms a leader’s image.

“Remember, no one is irreplaceable,” he added. He recommended that differing opinions be discussed internally through party channels and leadership rather than aired publicly, which could spark controversy.

Jasnih said political stability in the State must remain a priority as it is closely linked to development efforts and public welfare under the State Government’s Sabah Maju Jaya policy.
