KINARUT: WSG Group is poised to launch its latest project, Kinarut Palm Avenue, on a 10-acres prime land here early next year.

WSG Group managing director Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen said the new project, which is located adjacent to its ongoing Kinarut Palm City development, comprises 52 units of two-storey shoplots, 10Star Cinemas and a banquet hall.

She said the 10Star Cinemas on the ground floor and banquet hall on the first floor will have 16,000 square feet (sqft) of space each, as well as be equipped with escalators and lifts.

Susan said this at the grand opening of MWA Shakes and Ai-Cha at The Palm Square Commercial Centre here on Friday.

Kota Kinabalu: KOTA KINABALU: Fiesta Mega Raya (FMR) 2026 is set to be the largest and most prestigious Hari Raya celebration in Sabah, taking place from March 7 to 18, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here.
Guests of honours, Susan and Datuk Wong Ten An, jointly cut the ribbon with the outlets’ shareholders Melissa Wong, Arizan Ariffin, Yong and Ben Lim to mark the official opening of MWA Shakes and Ai-Cha. Also present were Jonathan Wong and his spouse, Wenessa Fong.

After more than a decade since WSG Group’s debut in Kinarut, Susan said the residential homes in Kinarut are fully occupied, which contributed to the thriving businesses at The Palm Commercial Centre, especially for food and beverage (F&B) operators.

“There is a strong demand for shoplots in Kinarut; many businesses desire to set up their operations here but there is a lack of available commercial space.”

Hence, Susan launched the Kinarut Palm City project in January this year, which was officiated by the Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.

Kinarut Palm City consists of 10 units of three-storey shoplots and 54 units of two-storey shoplots.

“Sales has been overwhelming since the launch. We have sold 45 units of the shoplots to date. The project is expected to be completed by June 2026.”

The new Kinarut Palm Avenue shoplots, cinema and banquet hall will make Kinarut an even more prosperous commercial hub.

Susan said she felt a great sense of accomplishment seeing that her company has developed over 1,000 residential and 200 commercial properties in Kinarut.

She revealed that many had doubted her decision to launch development projects in Kinarut because it is located in the outskirts of Kota Kinabalu city.

However, the road network has made it convenient and shorten the travel time to Kinarut district, she said.

Furthermore, Susan said the robust development of housing and commercial projects in Kinarut has attracted more buyers and investors to the district, which in turn, transformed the previously quiet township into a thriving business hub.

The WSG Group, under the leadership of Susan, has developed more than 1,000 units of residential properties and over 200 units of commercial properties in Kinarut since its first project, Taman Sungai Wang, in 2008.

The Taman Sungai Wang project consists of 207 double-storey terrace homes, followed by Rose Garden consisting of 400 units of terrace and semi-detached houses, and the Rose Garden Plaza with 14 shoplots.

Susan later built the The Palm Square Commercial Centre with 72 shoplots and The Palm Condominium which boasts 500 completed units to date. Tower E, the final tower of The Palm Condominium, is slated to be launched next year.

In 2015, the WSG Group shifted its focus to the development of Benoni New Township, namely Benoni Commercial Centre and Parklane City.
