KUNAK: The Sabah State General Election may be held before the start of the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) written examinations scheduled for Nov 25.
Former permanent member of the Election Reform Committee (ERC) and election analyst, Dr. G. Manimaran (pic), said it is highly possible that the Sabah State General Election could take place on 15 or 22 November (Saturday) or earlier, if the dissolution of the State Assembly (DUN) is made in early October.
The current political situation has seen Star and SAPP in Sabah leaving the GRS coalition on Thursday. Manimaran said there is a likelihood of a “snap election” being held soon, given the latest developments.
“Elections are usually held on weekends such as Saturday since that is when most people are free,” he told Daily Express on Friday.
