SIPITANG: Petroventure Energy Sdn Bhd has announced plans to carry out major blasting works for its proposed Petroleum Oil Storage and Refinery Plant here, with operations scheduled to run for 18 months starting Dec 2025.
The company recently held a stakeholder meeting at the Sipitang Oil and Gas Industrial Park to brief attendees on site preparation activities for the project at Lot 2.4.
The meeting was chaired by Petroventure Energy Executive Chairman and CEO, Dr Mohd Sham Mohd Yasin, and focused on regulatory approvals currently being sought from the Department of Environment, Department of Mineral and Geoscience Sabah, Department of Occupational Safety and Health, the police, and other relevant agencies.
Among those present were the Sipitang District Chief, village leaders from nearby communities, Petronas representatives, and project consultants.
Petroventure said the project is expected to create around 4,000 job opportunities — 3,000 during the construction phase and an additional 1,000 once operations commence.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to high safety standards, environmental protection, and sustainable practices throughout the project, which is also expected to generate significant revenue for Sabah and boost related industries.
