Kota Kinabalu: Police have denied a claim that a Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) student activist was arrested earlier today.

Kota Kinabalu police chief Kasim Muda rubbished Liga Mahasiswa Malaysia’s allegation that Suara Mahasiswa UMS president Sudirman Arshad was arrested.

He told FMT that Sudirman was merely called in to give a statement in relation to a sedition investigation involving an anti-corruption rally held outside the Suria Sabah shopping mall in June.

“That’s slander. No arrest was made. We only recorded his statement on the orders of the deputy public prosecutor,” he said.
