SEMPORNA: Police arrested a foreigner suspected of drug trafficking after seizing 200.54 grammes of syabu, valued at RM22,059.40, during an operation at Kampung Sri Jaya on Oct 21.
District Acting Police Chief DSP Jaafar Hakim said a team from the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division and Pulau Bum Bum Police Station conducted surveillance following a tip-off.
The suspect was spotted acting suspiciously in the area.
“During the inspection, the team discovered a black plastic in the suspect’s sling bag, containing four translucent packets believed to be syabu, weighing a total of 200.54 grammes worth RM22,059.40,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
DSP Jaafar urged the public to continue cooperating with authorities by reporting any information on drug-related activities.
