Gabungan Rakyat Sabah to unveil candidates November 12
“If we win, we will continue to implement the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 development roadmap to ensure continuity of Sabah’s development programmes,” Hajiji said.
GABUNGAN Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will announce its list of candidates for the coming 17th state election on Nov 12 (Wednesday), three days before the nomination day on Nov 15, said its Chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

He noted that other parties had decided to unveil theirs earlier, but GRS has set Nov 12 for the announcement.

“We have already distributed the seats. If others want to announce their lists, they can go ahead. We’ll make ours on Nov 12,” he said.

The caretaker Chief Minister reiterated his confidence in the coalition’s ability to regain the mandate to govern the State after the Nov 29 election.

Kota Kinabalu: KOTA KINABALU: Fiesta Mega Raya (FMR) 2026 is set to be the largest and most prestigious Hari Raya celebration in Sabah, taking place from March 7 to 18, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here.
“This confidence stems from the strong line-up of ‘winnable candidates’ fielded by GRS in all contested seats.

“We are only fielding candidates who can win, including here in Kuala Penyu. I’ve already given a hint earlier and we are confident of victory in this election.

“If we win, we will continue to implement the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 development roadmap to ensure continuity of Sabah’s development programmes,” he said.

On another matter, Hajiji agreed that the proposed construction of a bridge linking the Federal Territory of Labuan with mainland Sabah should be revisited with the Federal Government.

He said this facility is crucial not only to improve connectivity between the island and mainland Sabah but also to boost the economy of the Menumbok sub-district and the Kuala Penyu area.

Meanwhile, at a press conference later, Hajiji reaffirmed that GRS will field only genuine party candidates in the election.

“There’s no such thing as borrowing (candidates) in politics.

“We will nominate candidates who can win and we are confident of victory,” he said.

He confirmed that incumbent Assemblyman Datuk Limus Jury will represent GRS for the Kuala Penyu seat.
