Defectors were hoping to be candidates: GRS
Nizam said all members must accept the leadership’s decision and never sabotage the chosen candidate.
TAWAU: Party members should not betray their party if they are not selected as candidates, as unity and cooperation from all members, regardless of rank or position, are crucial to achieving success in elections.

Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Information Chief, Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan, said all members must accept the leadership’s decision and never sabotage the chosen candidate.

“Not being selected as a candidate is not the end of the struggle. Instead, it is a call to play a critical role in other positions because the unity of every member is essential to ensure the party remains strong.

“When we enter the political arena, we must be true fighters who serve for the good of the people, not for personal gain. Therefore, we must always be open-hearted and magnanimous,” he said.

Kota Kinabalu: KOTA KINABALU: Fiesta Mega Raya (FMR) 2026 is set to be the largest and most prestigious Hari Raya celebration in Sabah, taking place from March 7 to 18, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here.
The Apas assemblyman said this when speaking to reporters during the Malam Busking Amal Persatuan Anak Seni Tawau (Aset) held at Chester Night Market in Tawau town on Friday.

His advice comes following the latest developments in seat negotiations between Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Pakatan Harapan (PH), which are nearing completion, with only one seat still under discussion.

“We must place our trust in the party leadership and be ready to play our respective roles to ensure GRS can once again form a government together with PH,” he said.

Commenting on the program organized by Aset, Nizam said the event not only benefited its members but also provided a platform for local artists to showcase and develop their talents.

He believes that many Tawau youths are highly talented in music, art, and dance, with the potential to shine at the state, national, or even international levels.

“Tawau is not a stranger to the national music scene, as many well-known singers come from this district. We hope that all parties will continue to support them,” he added.
