KOTA KINABALU: The Tuan Fuad Stephen Botanic Garden project at Bukit Padang, led by the National Landscape Department under the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT), has reached 96.74 per cent completion.
The RM2,704.61-per-day delay penalty was imposed on the contractor due to internal management issues and late material supply. The project is expected to be fully completed by November 30, 2025.
KPKT said the park aims to serve as a biodiversity conservation centre, environmental education hub, and nature-based tourism attraction.
Early public access has been allowed while final works such as playground installation, signage and finishing touches continue.
JLN and Kota Kinabalu City Hall are closely monitoring progress to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
