KOTA KINABALU: All parties must recognise Sabah’s constitutional right to 40pc of federal revenue collected from the state, said Persatuan Anak Negeri Sabah (Pansa) president Peter Gibin.
He said the revenue entitlement is not a political demand but a constitutional obligation that must be implemented without delay, following the High Court’s recent mandamus order directing a review under Article 112D of the Federal Constitution.
Peter urged both the federal and state governments to act promptly, stressing that fulfilling the 40pc right restores long-overdue justice to Sabahans and upholds the Malaysia Agreement 1963.
He also voiced support for Upko president Datuk Ewon Benedick’s resignation from the cabinet and the party’s exit from Pakatan Harapan, calling it a principled stand to ensure the ruling is not appealed.
