KINABATANGAN: A trailer lorry carrying 12 tonnes of oil caught fire near the Kinabatangan bridge in Kampung Paris on Thursday morning, prompting a response from firefighters who arrived about 50 minutes after the emergency call.
The blaze, which started at the vehicle’s tyre section and burned about 10 per cent of the lorry, was initially brought under control by members of the public using a fire extinguisher before the Kota Kinabatangan fire station team completed the job.
Firefighters fully extinguished the flames using a hose line from their engine tank, and no injuries were reported in the incident.
