Facebook comments when the matter was mentioned before the Sessions Court here on Thursday.
Judge Hurman Hussain ordered the DNAA for Hashimah Hasbullah, whose remarks were said to have been read by a complainant at the Beaufort police station in February last year.
The court directed that her bail be refunded and her passport returned, while both prosecution and defence acknowledged the offence under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.
In a separate case, a 31-year-old man was sentenced to five years’ jail and one stroke of the cane after pleading guilty to repeatedly taking syabu.
Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan ruled that Azri Sakmat, who had two prior drug-taking convictions, begin serving his sentence from the date of arrest and remain under police supervision after release.
