TUARAN: A dawn fire destroyed a workers’ quarters in Taman Seri Lemawang here on Thursday, leaving one man in his 60s injured while about 50 others managed to escape.

Firefighters from the Tuaran station arrived within minutes and found the one-acre wooden quarters, made up of 70 small rooms, already engulfed and eventually razed.

The injured man, who cut himself on a zinc sheet while fleeing, received first aid from emergency responders before being sent to the hospital.
