KOTA KINABALU: Incumbent Datuk Yakubah Khan (BN) will defend his Karambunai seat in an 11-cornered contest in the Sabah General Election. The 58-year-old former State Science, Technology and Innovation Minister won the seat in 2020 by a narrow 16 votes over Ahmad Jais Otong (Warisan), who returns as a challenger.
Other contenders include Datuk Arshad Idris (GRS), Datuk Dr Aliakhbar Gulasan (PAS), Datuk Stephen Teo, Hates Abdul (SPP), Matkri Kassim (PKS), Mohd Yonus Ibrahim (Parti Bumi Kenyalang), Azman Fathil (Gemilang Anak Sabah), and Raynold Saikam Salinggou (Perpaduan).
In Darau, Azhar Matussin (Warisan) faces six challengers: Datuk Mohamed Razali Mohamed Razi (GRS), Arfansyah Abdul Gafar (BN), Nabila Norsahar (PN), Meriah Osman (PIS), and Nordin A.H Thani (KDM) in a six-cornered fight.
