SIPITANG: A six-cornered contest has taken shape in Lumadan, featuring Mohammad Norizhuan Awang, Abdul Jarih Okin, Amit Basrin, Datuk Ruslan Muharam, Datuk Mohd Nazri Abdullah, and the sole woman candidate, Jurinah Nasir.
Sindumin records a ten-way battle involving Moktar Matussin of Star, Marcos Buas of PIS, Yusri Pungut of Warisan, Kanafia Bujang of PKS, Sani Miasin of KDM, Dayang Norsafikah Abdul Hamid of PN, and four independents, Nelson Liau, Abdillah Jalak, Ibrahim Tuah @ Jepun, and Yamani Hafez Musa.
Candidates arrived with their supporters, including Datuk Ruslan Muharam accompanied by Sipitang MP Datuk Matbali Musah, while Datuk Mohd Nazri Abdullah was joined by former Sipitang Umno chief Datuk Kamarlin Ombi and current division head Abd Rahman Matnuh.
The atmosphere remained calm throughout the nomination process, although an elderly supporter required assistance from the Civil Defence Force after feeling unwell.
Returning Officer and Sipitang District Officer Abd Karim AM Azahari confirmed that no nominations were rejected for both Lumadan and Sindumin.
