LAHAD DATU: The Sabah Islamic Religious Affairs Department (Jheains) has reminded all parties to avoid political campaigning inside mosques and surau.
District religious administration officer Mardi Arifin (
pic) said the reminder aims to preserve the harmony shared by the local Muslim community.
He said worshippers should feel comfortable praying without political views being raised in religious spaces.
Mardi added that keeping politics separate from religion would help prevent remarks that might unintentionally offend people of other faiths.
He hoped the reminder would be taken seriously in the interest of maintaining unity and calm.
