Kota Kinabalu: CM Hajiji Noor said GRS remains intact and strong despite some leaders leaving the party ahead of the 17 State Election over not being selected as candidates.
He said the decision by several individuals to switch parties or contest as Independent candidates is their personal right.
“GRS is still intact, still strong. Some moved to other parties, some chose to become Independent candidates — that is their right. But it does not weaken GRS’ strength in this election.
We also have our own strategies,” he told the media after launching the GRS Manifesto at Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here Monday.
Hajiji was asked about recent developments involving several individuals withdrawing from the coalition.
On the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate who decided to withdraw, he said the matter concerns PH and declined to comment.
“That was his decision to withdraw, that is PH’s affair. I do not wish to comment,” he said.
However, Hajiji did not rule out the possibility that such actions could provide an advantage to GRS in the seats it is contesting.
He emphasised that GRS’ focus now is to ensure political stability, continuity of development and securing a clear mandate from the people of Sabah.
