KOTA KINABALU: The Principal of SMKA Tun Mustapha told the Coroner’s Court on Tuesday that she never advised the mother of the late Zara Qairina Mahathir against lodging a police report over the incident involving her daughter.
Shaharoom Hashim also denied touching the mother’s hand while saying there was no need to file a report because the chief warden had already done so.
The 47th witness was responding to questions from counsel Shahlan regarding an allegation that she had tried to dissuade Zara’s mother from approaching the authorities.
She said she met the mother at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on July 16, when the mother asked about the police report after receiving advice from someone close to her.
She told the court that she simply informed the mother that the school had already lodged a police report on the matter.
